At Renewal by Andersen, we believe strong communities are built by everyday heroes, and many of those heroes are young people who are already making a big difference. Today, we’re proud to spotlight Chaz Arriens, a local 14-year-old whose actions, character, and compassion have earned him the admiration of his classmates, teammates, teachers and parents alike.

A Role Model at School and on the Field

Chaz isn’t your average 9th grader. From the moment you meet him, it’s clear he’s kind, thoughtful, and genuinely driven to uplift others. At the end of his 8th-grade school year, Chaz was awarded the Citizenship Award, recognizing his outstanding character, integrity, and ability to motivate others toward positive action. Whether in the classroom or the lunchroom, Chaz is someone others naturally look up to.

Leading by Example in Sports and Life

As a running back on his football team, Chaz consistently displays incredible sportsmanship. He’s the first to offer a handshake, a “great job”, or help an opponent up after a tough play. In fact, during one game, after making a strong play, he noticed another player had fallen awkwardly, and instead of celebrating, Chaz immediately ran back to check on him. That’s just who he is.

As a team leader, he motivates his teammates not by shouting commands but by encouraging everyone, reminding them of their strengths, and never putting anyone down. His leadership is authentic, and his teammates trust and respect him because of it.

Making His Community a Better Place

Chaz’s story reminds us that you don’t have to be an adult to make an impact. Whether helping a friend, lifting up a teammate, or encouraging a teacher, he brings out the best in those around him. He embodies the spirit of community we cherish here in Wisconsin, lending a hand, lifting a heart, and leading with kindness.
